Omair has been an entrepreneur in Biotechnology and Finance, following a 12-year career in Trading and Portfolio Management. He launched a systematic trading firm, premised on his research in chaos theory and patterns. His transition into Biotech, inspired by medical challenges, was in building and scaling ventures to target pain management with non-opioids and pathogens including SARS-CoV-2 with nanobodies and small molecules. His work was nominated at World Economic Forum COVID-19 Response Challenge in 2020, following his research in Pandemics in 2007. He obtained a M.Sc. (2013) in Quantitative Finance from London Business School, and BA (Hon) from University of Toronto in Economics, Statistics and Theology
Prabitha has been a clinical researcher, following a 13-year career in software engineering in Tech and Media. Starting with a PhD on the fabrication, characterization and application of disposable micro-cantilevers for biomedical applications, she continued as a Postdoc at Biomaterials Science Centre of University of Basel, and then at University Hospital of Psychiatry in Bern. She was a researcher and deputy group head at the Gerontechnology and Rehabilitation group, ARTORG Center of University of Bern and scientific officer and program manager at Innosuisse (Swiss Innovation Agency). Her research career has covered a broad interdisciplinary biomedical field ranging from nanotechnology, biosensors, biomaterials, implant surfaces and its characterization, micro/nanofabrication, neuroscience, psychiatry, neurodegenerative diseases, gerontechnology, ambient assisted living, telehealth and rehabilitation. She holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science & Engineering from Mangalore University, a M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering from University of Bern, a PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering from University of Basel and the Paul Scherrer Institute, and Venia Docenti (PD) from the University of Bern.
